Galway Senator Niall Ó Brolcháin has encouraged everyone to make sure they are on the electoral register for the upcoming election.
“I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that this is the most significant election in the history of the State” said Senator Ó Brolcháin. “It’s very important that everyone should be able to have their say on Election Day.”
“You can check if your name is on the register online, at checktheregister.ie, and I would strongly encourage everyone to make sure your name is there.”
“If you’re not on the register, you need to get form RFA2 (available here). Get it signed at a Garda station and return it to the Council. It needs to get to them 15 working days before the election, and with the election probably coming on the 25th February, that means before the 4th of February.”
“I really would encourage everyone to make sure they have a vote in this election. We need real change in this country, not just the politicians but the political system. We need a stable government to get the economy working again creating jobs. And we need to sort out the financial mess caused by bad planning and poor regulation over the past decade. There really couldn’t be more at stake in this election, so please, make sure you’re on the register and get out and use your vote. It has never mattered more.” concluded Senator Ó Brolcháin.
