Register to Vote!

No matter who you intend to vote for, it’s important to make your voice heard. The success of Barack Obama in the US Presidential elections – a man who, very recently, had no political funds or support, yet took on two of the biggest and most efficient political machines in the world, the Clintons and the Republican Party, and won – shows exactly how our votes can make a difference.


Irish elections may not be of the same scale as the US Presidential Election, but your vote can still make a difference. Register to vote and have your say.


If you are not sure whether or not you are on the electoral register, you can check online here if you will be voting in Galway City, or via www.checktheregister.ie if you will be voting elsewhere.


If you are not on the register, you can apply to be on the Supplementary register using form RFA2 (Download PDF: Gaeilge / English).


If you have moved house since registering to vote, you can change your address on the Electoral Register using form RFA3 (Download PDF: Gaeilge / English).


Once filled in, these forms should be posted to Galway City Council at the following address:
